If you are looking for something to do with the kids this warm June weekend, why not head to the shores of Lake Geneva to watch the 2012 Bol d’Or Mirabaud Regatta.
The opening ceremony starts Friday at 18:30 and the boats set sail Saturday morning at 10:00. Over 600 boats are participating. It’s sure to be a sight to see.
For the rest of the weekend, for budding horseback riders, equestrians and horse lovers, why not head to Signy and their Annual Concours Hippique, being held Saturday and Sunday in the equestrian fields across from Signy Centre. Run by the Cercle Hippique de la Cote, there is on site food stands, equestrian goods, and of course the contest itself.
Parking is available (though the fields likely a bit damp from all the rain), so why not take the NSTCm train to L’Asse and then walk the 200m to the fields.
Young and old will enjoy the variety of horses and events.
For those of you further east in the La Cote area, there is the Fete de la Musique in Morges. Being held on Saturday, 16 June 2012 in the Parc des Sports in Morges.
The day opens at 10:00 with a chamber orchestra, but continues through several musical styles including Big Band, Jazz, Chanson francaise, Funk, Rock, Pop francophone, Country, Alternative, Blues, Punk Rock, Indie, Metal, Folk, and Electronica.
Nyon is also hosting a Fete de la Musique, starting Friday evening in the old town and along Rive.
